Aidan Roberts: Pushing the Limits of British Bouldering
Aidan Roberts is a name that resonates in the world of bouldering, particularly within the UK climbing scene. Hailing from Cumbria, Roberts has rapidly ascended to the top ranks of the sport, known for his methodical approach, technical prowess, and a series of groundbreaking ascents.
His journey into climbing began in his youth, quickly progressing through the ranks. Notably, he has established several first ascents at the 8C grade, including Shadow Women at Kentmere Boulders and Right Hand Man at The Bowderstone.
Aidens climbing achievements are not confined to the UK. He has made significant contributions to the global bouldering community with ascents such as Alphane (9A) in Chironico, Switzerland, and Burden of Dreams (9A) in Finland. In 2024, he proposed a grade of 9A for his first ascent of Spots of Time in the Lake District, a line he described as “really hard” and “complex.”
